Production
Prototype and production assemblies share the same data and equipment. We achieve quality production by simply letting our prototypes run longer.  If we have assembled your prototypes, the production is ready to run. If the assembly is new to us, we input your data using our sophisticated prototyping software to ensure a smooth and error free set-up.

At the heart of our line is a Europlacer Finesse 2. Unlike compact placers this turret machine will run near optimum speed without feeders having to be placed in a precise order on the bed. Feeders are not rearranged between jobs, enabling very fast changeovers between jobs, without sacrificing speed. The Europlacer has all the component handling features you would expect from the latest generation placer.

Fast efficient and flexible soldering of leaded components is achieved using a Jade selective soldering machine. The Jade is particularly effective at producing repeatable joints on high-density double-sided assemblies where wave soldering cannot be used.

We offer you

  • Contract review. In addition to the standard review, our software looks at job data in depth to ensure smooth progress through our system. We can also modify data to optimise it for our processes.
  • Procurement. Brynleigh Technology procures components worldwide, for batch runs, military boards, and prototypes. Being an acknowledged specialist has enabled us to develop a highly efficient and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Goods Inwards and Kitting. These activities are automated with powerful search facilities to ensure we have the correct components kitted. Once identified bar-coded GRN and kit labels are fitted to the materials for traceability. Kit status is shown graphically for instant evaluation of status, enabling us to keep our customers fully informed. Reports on free issue quantities are fed back if required.
  • Materials Traceability. For added customers assurance we can trace, on screen, component delivery documents from circuit references or show all the boards and circuit references for a particular batch of components.
  • Flexible Manufacture. A fully integrated, and uniquely flexible production line responds to changeable needs. It is particularly good at assembling batches where there are several versions of the same board in one build.
  • Component Packaging. The Europlacer is integrated with our prototyping stations so we can continue assembly even when some components are not packaged in tape, stick or tray.
  • Speed. Assembly speeds up 13,500 components per hour, with full vision positioning. The Europlacer runs at near optimum speed, without the need to arrange the feeders in specific positions. This enables fast set-ups without compromising on speed.
  • Assembly capabilities. Machine placement of SMT components down to 0201, and up to 50mm. square, BGA, uBGA, fine pitch QFP. Optical detection of missing ball, bent legs and damaged components. Tape, stick and tray feeders are available.
  • Reflow. Accurate reflow profiles are required for reliable assembly, particularly with lead free processing. Our BTU VIP70 achieves this with 100% forced air convection providing exceptionally even temperatures across the boards. Heavily loaded and metal backed microwave boards are processed with ease.
  • Inspection. 100% A0I inspection of all SMT, auto programmed for speed and accuracy.
  • Cleanliness Testing. We have an Ionograph to certify surface cleanliness if required.
  • ROHS compliance. We build assemblies, ROHS compliant or tin-lead depending on our customers requirement. Full traceability on materials ensures the correct materials are used for either requirement.
  • Quality. Brynleigh technology is certified, by BSI, to ISO 9001. Our air-conditioned, static safe working environment ensures your materials and product are handled with care at all times. We work to IPC-A-610, usually class 3 – High Performance Electronic Product standards.
  • Staff training. Our assembly personnel are trained to IPC standards for standard assembly, ROHS compliant assembly and rework.
  • Environmental. As part of our on-going corporate excellence programme, we achieve minimum waste, a paper free environment and have migrated all Best Practice and Quality Control procedures into our intranet for ease of access by all our personnel.
